Sure, Grey’s Anatomy and CSI have new episodes tonight, but those hits don’t need my help, so here are a few offerings that often get more critical and cult attention than they do viewers.
Smallville: Chloe and Jimmy’s wedding day (finally) arrives, but the bigger news is that Lana (Kristin Kreuk) is back, because this budding-Superman drama hasn’t been quite the same since she and Lex Luthor left. 7 p.m., KDAF/Channel 33
The Phantom of the Opera: Science-fiction author Ray Bradbury, Turner Classic Movies’ "guest programmer" for November, kicks off his four-film marathon with this 1925 silent classic featuring Lon Chaney, who’s also in Bradbury’s second pick, 1923’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Bradbury rounds out his lineup with two greats: Alfred Hitchcock’s Rebecca (1940) and Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane (1941), a somewhat predictable selection that nevertheless is always worth seeing. Begins 7 p.m., TCM
Supernatural: Last week’s two-parter, one of the best episodes of an already strong season, concludes with Dean and Sam (Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki) trying to save a troubled young woman (Julie McNiven) from demons — and from angels. 8 p.m., KDAF/Channel 33
Cool Tools: The gadget-crazy hardware show begins its third season with host Chris Grundy showing us some cool things for yardwork. I have one of those! It’s a telephone I use to call my lawn guy. 8 p.m., DIY (Charter Channel 244, Time Warner Channel 165, DirecTV 230, Dish 111, FIOS 147, U-Verse 454)
30 Rock: The sitcom’s Month of Guest Star Mania continues, with Steve Martin appearing as one of Jack’s old friends, an eccentric businessman who becomes smitten with Liz (Tina Fey). 8:31 p.m., KXAS/Channel 5
