Irving police seek help identifying serial robber

IRVING -- Police requested help Wednesday to identify a man who authorities say is responsible for 10 holdups of gasoline service stations and a pizza restaurant in recent weeks.

Investigators released photos Wednesday of the bandit taken from store surveillance cameras.

The armed bandit has robbed eight convenience stores and hit a pizza restaurant twice.

In most cases, the gunman enters a store with his own money bag and he has demanded Newport brand cigarettes in a few robberies, police said.

Witnesses have described him as Hispanic, about 18 to 25-years-old, wearing a hooded dark windbreaker-type jacket with silver stripes on the sleeves. The robber has worn black pants and black tennis shoes with white soles. He covers his face with a blue bandana or the collar of his jacket.

Police noted that the bandit wears a glove on his left hand while he doesn’t wear one on his right hand which is the one he uses to hold the handgun.

No one has been injured, but police voiced concern that the increased frequency of the holdups could escalate to violence.
