The Dallas Cowboys have yet to play a down in their last season at Texas Stadium, but the fire sale has already begun.
The team is selling the seats from Texas Stadium for Cowboys fans who might want to take a piece of the old stadium home.
"It’s a great opportunity for our longtime fans to hold onto the memories, tradition and history of Texas Stadium," Cowboys spokesman Brett Daniels said.
Season-ticket holders who want to own the plastic seats that they have sat and probably spilled beer on for years can buy a pair of seats for $650. End-of-row seats cost $750, according to the Cowboys Web site. Seats are also available to non-season-ticket holders.
The 35-year-old seats are sold only in pairs and are "unrestored" and in " 'as is’ condition."
But don’t expect to see fans unbolting their seats after the last game this season. The purchase price includes shipping and handling and tax, and the Cowboys Web site says, "No pickups allowed."
Proceeds from the sale of the seats are split between the team and Irving, which owns Texas Stadium.
